Taking your pet abroad
When you want to take your pet into The Netherlands or if you want to travel from The Netherlands to another country you will have to take several rules into account. Traveling between different countries inside the European Union means that your pet has to have a valid passport, a vaccination against Rabies and a chip. The Rabies vaccination has to be repeated every three years. Some countries in Europe and most countries outside Europe have extra rules.

Starting january 1st 2012 the rules on travelling to and from the UK and Sweden will be changed. Please read the websites for this. Furthermore it is advisable to contact the specific Consulate. Some airline companies have rules on travelling by plane and the use of sedatives. You can find the information on their websites.
